A free word unscrambler for crossword clues, word games and the moments a word is on the tip of your tongue.
01 What this site does
Type up to 15 letters and get every word you can build from them — not a selection, not the top ten. Results are grouped longest first and scored, so the strongest play is the first thing you read. There is no account, no limit on how often you use it, and no step between typing and the answer.
02 How it works
The whole thing runs in your browser. The word list is downloaded once, the first time you use the tool, and after that every query is answered on your own device in a few thousandths of a second.
That has a consequence worth stating plainly: the letters you type never reach us. There is no server to send them to.
03 Where the words come from
Words come from ENABLE, the Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon — a public-domain English word list. We use 168,551 entries, two to 15 letters, normalised to lowercase letters only.
We chose a public-domain list on purpose. The official tournament lists for the well-known word games are copyrighted, and we would rather tell you exactly which list you are searching than imply an endorsement we do not have.
04 Who runs it
Email hello@word-unscramble.com with corrections, missing words or anything that looks wrong. word-unscramble.com is an independent site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any word game or its publisher.
